Configuration
The Logical-Arts Privacy extensions can be configured by the global Joomla configuration pages.
Select Home Dashboard -> Sytem Card -> Global Configuration -> Logical-Arts Privacy.
General Configuration
With the general configuration elements, you can specify the behavior of the privacy extension.
Sessioncookie category | The Joomla session cookie is a randomly generated value and therefore cannot be entered in the cookie list. Normally the cookie is only used by Joomla for functional purposes. Therefore the category "Functional" is also the default value. Any category can be assigned to the cookie here. |
Detect admin sessioncookie | The removal of all cookies (if the user has not yet consented) also includes the removal of the session cookie of the admin session (if logged into the admin area at the same time). As a result, the admin session cookie is also deleted each time the page is accessed and the user must log in again in the admin area. If the switch is set to "yes", a cookie that could apparently be an admin session cookie is not deleted. The criterion is the length of the name and the length of the value. |
Popup align | Set the align of the choice-box. |
Popup Mode | Sets the mode of the choice-box. A modal dialog box requires the user to interact with it before he can return to browse the page. In contrast a modeless dialog box allows users to continue interacting with the page while the dialog box is open. |
Popup Delay | Set the delay in seconds, the choice-box appears. This only affects the automatic appearance if the user has not yet made a selection. |
Show Cancel Button | You can hide the cancel button at the top right of the choice-box. In conjunction with a modal dialog, this forces the user to make a selection. |
Enable 'necessary' switch | Normally, the 'necessary' cookies (like session cookie) is forced to be in 'on' state. So the basic functionality is guaranteed. Here you can also give the user the option of switching this off. |
Show Icon | Shows an icon after user has given consent. |
Visitor Cookie time | The time in days, the consent storing cookie will live. After this time, the user has to choose the consent again. |
Show Privacy Link | Show the link to your privacy page in the choice-box. |
Show EU Legal Link | Show the links to the EU legals in the choice-box. |
Use Geo-DB | Use the Geo Database to check the visitors country. This prevents the consent requirement for all non EU visitors. |
Check for Robots | Enable if you don't want the plugin to run when a bot/crawler is detected. Make search crawlers do not index content of your Consent dialog instead of your real content. |
Drop Scripts | Drop third party scripts, if not matching the consent. This needs the modification of the <script> tags. |
Log Acceptance | The acceptance logging will record the users choice in the database. In order to identify the user, each user is assigned a unique ID and stored in a cookie. This id is displayed in the settings dialog. |
Logger | Enable the debugging logger. This log is generated at the administrator/logs directory |
Logfile | Specify an alternative logfile name. By default 'lartsprivacy' is used. |
Cookies Policy
The cookies policy is a free text field at the settings dialog. Write the necessary user information here.
Styles
The most significant elements of the privacy extension layout can be modified easily here. For further changes, the CSS definition must be edited.
