Installation

 

Enabling without configuration is NOT recommended.

 

  1. Download the Plugin:

    • Download the plugin zip-file and store it at your computer.
  2. Log in to Your Joomla Admin Panel:

    • Open your web browser and navigate to your Joomla website's admin panel by entering the URL followed by "/administrator" (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com/administrator).
    • Log in using your administrator username and password.
  3. Access the Extension Manager:

    • Once logged in, you'll be in the Joomla Administrator Dashboard. Select the "System" Menu and select "Extensions" at the "Install" panel.
  4. Upload the Plugin:

    • In the Extension Manager, click on the "Upload Package File" tab.
    • Click on the "Choose File" or "Browse" button and select the zipfile of the plugin you downloaded earlier.
      Note: You can drag'n drop the zip file to the upload area.
  5. Confirmation:

    • After the upload is complete, you should see a success message indicating that the plugin has been installed successfully.
  6. Configure the Plugin (if necessary):

    • Depending on the plugin, you may need to configure its settings. This can usually be done by navigating to the plugin manager.
      Select the "Systems" Menu and goto "Extensions" -> "Manage" -> "Plugins".
    • Search for the plugin you installed. Click at the name to access its settings.
  7. Enable the Plugin:

    • Depending on the installation and plugin, you you need to enable the plugin for it to start working.
      Select the "Systems" Menu and goto "Extensions" -> "Manage" -> "Plugins" (same as for configuration)
    • Click on the gray circle icon to enable it (it will turn green).
  8. Verify Installation:

    • Visit the frontend of your Joomla website to ensure that the plugin is functioning correctly as intended. Depending on the plugin's purpose, you may need to interact with certain features to confirm its operation.

 At this point, the extension is installed but not enabled. If you enable it without configuration, it will work - but the URL keys will be default (well known) and not secure. Enabling without configuration is NOT recommended.
